Curriculum Connector
Higher education is changing quickly, driven by shifting workforce demands, new technologies, and evolving expectations for how a degree should prepare students for their lives and careers. In partnership with academic units across the university, the Curriculum Connector is a dedicated space to act on this moment
We work to ensure every UNT student's academic pathway is intentionally connected and coherent — from the first-year experience through graduation — to the skills, experiences, and credentials that translate into meaningful work. We collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners to create a unifying thread and sense of purpose in students' educational experiences at UNT, equipping them to thrive in their professional and personal lives.
Our work:
- makes UNT's curricular experiences and strategies legible to one another
- engages industry professionals to help inform curricular design and pedagogy that prepares students for a rapidly evolving workforce
- enables and supports educator agency by lowering barriers, providing models, community, and recognition across UNT
- identifies opportunities to better align Core curriculum and degree pathways
- serves as a laboratory for curricular experimentation
Our fall 2026 projects focus on career-connected learning and Core curriculum revision, and we invite you to join us. If you're a faculty member experimenting with curricular design, a staff member connecting students to opportunity, or an industry partner interested in shaping what UNT graduates bring to the workforce, there's a place for you in this work. Current Projects
School of Applied Liberal Arts
We are supporting the launch of UNT's new School of Applied Liberal Arts, which
uses interdisciplinary education to develop socially responsible citizens and leaders.
Core curriculum innovation
We are exploring and designing worthwhile Core classes that engage students in
experiential learning early on and help them see a connection between their courses
and life goals.
Industry partnerships
We are making connections with industry leaders across North Texas to guide curricular innovation and enhance the career relevance of majors already strong
in critical and creative education.
New higher education pathways
We are cultivating new pathways into higher education, creating supportive pre-college, first year and
gap year experiences.
