UNT conducts teaching needs assessment surveys to gather insight on faculty needs related to instruction. This process involves a comprehensive evaluation of the learning needs, preferences and challenges of campus edcuators to inform the development and implementation of effective instructional strategies, materials and interventions.

In fall 2023, Faculty Success facilitated a teaching needs assessment survey via Qualtrics. The questionaire was followed by four focus groups to further investigate faculty needs. All UNT faculty who teach, including adjuncts, were invited to participate.

The Learning Ecosystem for Empowering Futures (LEEF) and its Teaching Hub unit came out of assessing educator needs. Additionally, trainings including the ACUE Certificate in Teaching Effectiveness and the Teaching Portfolio Workshop are offered as a direct result of the data collected from the needs assessment surveys and focus groups.
