The Research & Evidence Team serves as the analytical and evaluation arm of LEEF, advancing evidence-based decision making across teaching, learning, and curricular innovation at UNT. The team conducts applied learning sciences research, program evaluation, learning analytics, and accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) research to better understand the factors that influence student success, retention, and engagement.

Recent research projects have examined relationships between course accessibility and DFWI rates, syllabus design and student success, active learning practices, and AI-enabled assistive technologies. The R&E Team also partners with faculty on scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and educational innovation projects, providing assistance in research design, survey and interview instruments development, qualitative and quantitative analysis, assessment, and dissemination of findings. Internally, the R&E Team evaluates the effectiveness of LEEF initiatives, programs, workshops, and faculty development efforts, generating actionable insights that inform continuous improvement across the ecosystem.

The team supports the work of LEEF's Teaching Hub, Learning Institute, Designing Learning, and Curriculum Connector units by providing data, research-driven, and impact evidence that help translate innovative ideas into measurable improvements in teaching and learning, as well as accessibility, UDL, and student outcomes.
