Every semester, the Teaching Hub hosts book clubs for different titles on teaching and learning. Explore current selections and join below.
Following the Sept. 1, 2026, Transparent Assignment Design workshop with Dr. Allison Boye, join us for a deeper dive into the book she co-edited, Transparent Design in Higher Education Teaching and Leadership: A Guide to Implementing the Transparency Framework Institution-Wide to Improve Learning and Retention. Participants will explore how small changes in assignment design can make a meaningful impact on student learning and success. This book club will provide an opportunity to discuss key ideas, share perspectives, and consider practical ways to apply these strategies in your own teaching. Register here.
As part of the Writing Skills Transfer Initiative, join us for a book club discussion of Understanding Writing Transfer: Implications for Transformative Student Learning in Higher Education. Together, we’ll explore how students transfer writing knowledge and skills across courses, disciplines, and real-world contexts — and what educators can do to better support that process. This discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on how writing is taught and understood across higher education, share experiences and perspectives, and consider practical approaches for helping students develop writing skills that extend beyond a single assignment or classroom. Co-author Randall Bass will attend as a guest speaker. Register here.
